SATIN FINISH GLASS and OPALINE PLEXIGLASS

glass

On specific products is possible to install satin finish glass or opaline plexiglass.

What’s the difference between these two kinds of materials?

  • Opaline plexiglass has both surfaces (front and back) slightly rough, white in color.
Transparency is very limited. The shape of an object some centimetres far from the glass is indefinite.
Plexiglass is safer than glass due to its elasticity and resistance to breakage. In case of breakage it does not splinter and does not generate sharp fragments like glass.
  • Satin finish glass has a smooth surface on both sides. Colour is whitish and transparency is limited, especially for those objects placed some centimetres far from the glass. The colour of satin finish glass is more affected by the colour of objects inside.
The glass looks more elegant despite of plexiglass, it is more easy to clean and gives a more classic and refined appearance.

The opacity of both materials is very similar. Below pictures will help you in your choice.
